My Story
Dr. Alan Coppedge and his son in law Dan Searls are our speakers at the Cherry Run
Men’s Retreat. Dr. Coppedge taught for 33 years as the Beeson Professor of Christian
Theology at Asbury Theological Seminary in the areas of Wesley Studies and
Systematic Theology. For three years, Dr. Coppedge served as Academic Dean and
Professor of Old Testament at the Biblical Seminary of Colombia, South America, where
he was under appointment as a missionary with OMS International. He has also
worked in the areas of discipleship for many years with many Asbury Seminary
students, through the Barnabas ministry. He has authored Biblical Principles of
Discipleship, Portraits of God, and The God Who is Triune. Dr Coppedge is married to
Beth and they have three daughters, one son, eleven granddaughters, five grandsons,
and two great grandsons.
Dan Searls is a graduate of Asbury University and served with his wife Katy Beth for 26
years as a missionary in Hungary with World Gospel Mission. Since 2018 he is serving
on missionary special Assignment, serving with the mobilization team as long term
coordinator. He and Katy Beth have two daughters and two grandsons.
